We had a fun afternoon in my 5th grade class today learning about the different parts of a plant! The kids were super excited when they saw me setting up the nine stations with posters and food. Some of the items were not their favorite (broccoli, spinach, celery). Other items were real winners (chocolate, apples, cinnamon disks).
The kids used a worksheet to try to match the food item with the plant part. We went through the answers together and then read about plant parts together in our textbook. It was so much fun to watch them experiment and hypothesize.
